Our Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all house clearance, probate clearance, commercial clearance, waste removal, and related services provided by The Clearance Crew. By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided based on the information available at the time of assessment. Quotations may be subject to revision if the volume of items, access requirements, hazardous materials, or other conditions differ from those disclosed prior to the service.

3. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Ensuring access to the property at the agreed time.

  • Identifying and removing any items they wish to retain before work begins.

  • Informing us of any hazardous, dangerous, or restricted materials present at the property.

  • Obtaining any necessary permissions required for the clearance.

Once clearance work has commenced, we cannot guarantee the recovery of items that have been removed or disposed of.

4. Ownership of Items

The customer confirms that they are the legal owner of all items within the property or have full authority from the legal owner or relevant parties (including executors where applicable) to instruct their removal.

By booking our services, the customer authorises us to remove, handle, transport, recycle, donate, or dispose of all items as part of the agreed clearance work.

Once clearance work has commenced, all items designated for removal are considered authorised for disposal, donation, or recycling in accordance with the agreed service. We do not accept liability for items removed under customer instruction.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any items they wish to retain are clearly identified and removed prior to the start of work.

5. Donations and Recycling

Where suitable and practical, we may donate reusable items to local charities or recycling organisations. We reserve the right to determine the most appropriate method of disposal, recycling, resale, or donation.

6. Hazardous Materials

We do not accept responsibility for the removal of hazardous substances unless specifically agreed in writing. This includes, but is not limited to, asbestos, chemicals, fuels, explosives, biohazardous waste, and other regulated materials.

7. Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required upfront to confirm and secure all bookings.

For larger jobs, a higher deposit may be required, which will be agreed with the customer before work commences.

The remaining balance is due in full upon completion of all agreed works, before the job is signed off.

We reserve the right to withhold completion of services or removal of waste until full payment has been received.

Any additional work requested outside of the original quotation will be agreed with the customer in advance and may incur additional charges.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers may cancel or request to reschedule their booking at any time.

If a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled service, the 50% deposit will be retained unless there is a valid reason for postponement (such as emergencies or unforeseen access issues), which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Each booking may be rescheduled once. If the job is rescheduled more than once, the deposit will be forfeited.

Any further changes to the agreed date must be mutually agreed in advance.

If we are unable to carry out the service due to circumstances within our control, any deposit paid will be refunded in full or an alternative date offered.

9. Liability

Whilst every care is taken during the clearance process, our liability is limited to the value of the service provided.

We shall not be liable for:

  • Items left behind at the customer's request.

  • Hidden damage or defects that become apparent during clearance.

  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

10. Access and Delays

If access to the property is restricted, delayed, or unavailable at the agreed time, additional charges may apply.

11. Waste Disposal

All waste collected by us will be disposed of responsibly in accordance with applicable environmental regulations and waste management requirements.

12. Privacy

Any personal information provided to us will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will be available on our website.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
